There is someone out there screaming, over, and over, and over, again. It's not a blood-curdling scream but more of a groups of yells consisting of "aahh". I think it's their pain. They think it'll help.
The only response the person got was the howls of canines at the absent moon.
But I look outside the window and I suddenly see and hear one ambulance and one police car. The person is on the pavement, and the hollers stop. The person is carried into the ambulance on a stretcher by two paramedics. The ambulance drives off into the night, without sirens.
